What's "In Store" for you!
A little field trip without having to leave the comfort of your AC!
And, because I am sure you were wondering, the flamingo does light up!

Vintage Modern
I am always looking for ways to describe the style at REfind. It isn't easy because there are so many styles that overlap and meld together. As I was walking through downtown Oklahoma City the other day I spied this:
And it occurred to me this is it! That is exactly what I love! I got pretty excited because being the visual person that I am I figured I could just post this on my blog and everyone would get "it"!
To me this is the epitome of Vintage Modern. Two vastly different places in time coexisting in a visually appealing fashion. The little at&t was just below and to the left of the Telephone Building sign. Each could easily stand on its own but in contrast to one another each became more important.
As I have refined my own personal style I realize why I am so excited to be able to make some major changes in my new home. Being able to mix some of the old with some of the new gets me excited. The juxtaposition of two very different objects makes both a little more interesting.
And of course this little girl gets me pretty excited too!

Bring it!
Heather Wombacher of The House Proud will be in at REfind today. Stop by with your design questions. She is a wealth of information and doesn't mind you previewing her to see if she could be the one to help you pull together projects in your home.
I am away in windy, hot Oklahoma but will see you on Friday!

A beauty arrived this morning
And I don't think I could say it as good as Edie, of Originally Yours, always does
Yes, Sophie is definitely something to turn your head; curvy in all the right places and a real beauty!

My house is acting today
Getting ready to sell a home is A LOT of work. In my mind I had it altogether, but those of you who saw my previous post with room photos know the truth! Living in a home and staging a home are just not the same.
Pictures for brochures and the Internet are being taken today. Fortunately for me I had my secret weapon with me all day yesterday. Throughout the day I peppered her with questions, showing her the same photos I had posted earlier.
All I can say is this girl knows her stuff! Heather of The House Proud staged my home by studying each picture and making suggestions. Like the good little rule follower I am, I followed her instructions to the best of my ability and in no time I had each room looking so much better FOR THE PHOTO SHOOT TODAY!
Not only can Heather help you decorate your home to live in, she can also help you when staging your home for sale is the goal. I literally spent 5 hours on this project and the results are amazing. Simple suggestions like, "move that server holding the lemons, you can't see your fabulous Dacor oven" and "the bathroom needs a pop of color, how about a few blue towels to offset the brown walls" and "I love your study but just add a gold pillow to liven up what you already have going on". The best advice was something to help make the small dining room appear larger. And it was so simple; "move the flowered parsons chairs to the corners and use the white wood chairs at the ends of the table". So simple, yet amazingly effective at opening up the room.
If you are thinking of selling or just need help pulling your rooms together to live in ask me about Heather. She is another great little find you will come across at REfind! Check out the photo evidence below and let me know what you think. (I know what I am thinking...if it wasn't for Heather I wouldn't be enjoying a cup of coffee and typing this blog this morning; I would be running around like a chicken with my head cut off right about now!)
P.S. I am not a professional photograper, but at least you get the idea!
P.S.S. Heather, are you available to help me with my new house ??????
