We were having trouble figuring out what to call our party, but decided Heather's Coming Out Party didn't quite sound right. I am so excited for all of you to meet Heather, the new Interior Stylist who has joined me at REfind so we decided a Growing Party is what we are having. REfind is Growing, actually doubling!
If you are a loyal reader of this blog you are invited to help me celebrate Heather Wombacher joining me at REfind. The highlight of the evening will be a chance to win a room restyle with Heather! The party starts at 5PM on Thursday, April 7th.
Now, the only thing I am going to ask of you is that you leave a comment on this blog so I will know to expect you! Please, please leave me a comment. I have never asked this of you before but it would be so fun to have a few comments on my blog. Thanks!

Do you like my music?
I get lots of comments about the music I play at REfind. Truth be told I started out with more contemporary easy listening music. I discovered as much as I like Norah, Jack and Colbie; it just didn't set the mood I wanted in the shop day in and day out.
In trying different types of music I found the music from Frank, Dean and Doris was something that I never tire of. Many of you have asked me if I have a CD of the music I play in the shop for you to purchase. I actually play the music from my ipod, but I was able to find a company that has the Vintage Music you are asking for.
These CD's are packaged in great little tins that make them a nice gift. Big Band, Swing, Jazz and songs from the 40's and 50's will be something you will listen to over and over again...I know, I do it everyday!

Fresh out of the greenhouse
Time to green up our homes for spring. I just received a shipment of plants this week to include this adorable guy who will welcome you to the shop!
The ferns are very healthy and include a new variety I have never carried before; the curly birds nest fern. The variegated creeping fig are also full and lush. And as usual I have the 4" ivy in both green and variegated.

Using what you love
I was thinking about how each person chooses what items will decorate their home. Our homes are a reflection of us in so many ways. My "stuff" makes it feel like my home. I am not even sure if most of the things we love the most were really even conscience decisions....I think sometimes you just fall in love.
Which brings me to the story of why this little rusty trike sits in my front yard. I saw it in ajunk antique store. It is not an antique, it is just a rusty little bike. Could be from 1992 for all I know! But, I fell for it and it has been parked in the front garden every since. I usually plant annuals in the little front basket. Last year I got smart and planted sedums which like to be dry and require very little of me. I love my little trike and it makes me happy each time I see it.
One day I arrived home and my little trike had been replaced. There was a huge television that had taken its place in the garden. I was intrigued wondering if this was my husbands idea of how to get the lawn mowed and watch the game at the same time. It wasn't too long before I realized my reaction was being observed by he and the next door neighbor. Of course I was aghast to see this big ugly piece of junk sitting in my beautiful garden.
He then said, "If you can put junk in the front yard, so can I". Hmmm....in my eyes the little trike was a work of art, perfectly rusted in all the right places. Why didn't he see the beauty that I see? I am happy to say the little trike is still parked under the crape myrtle tree. Its little basket hanging off the handle bars is filled with sedums getting ready to grow and it still makes me smile. I am not sure what having junk in the front yard says about me, but I hope it makes others feel they too can decorate with what they love.

Indoor/Outdoor Rugs
Dash and Albert makes a fabulous indoor/outdoor rug. I just received a few new ones in the shop for you to see. They are made of polypropylene which makes them so easy to clean. They are hoseable and bleachable (even the ones with lots of color). You take them outside, hose them down and air dry. You will be amazed that they look as good as new.
These rugs are a great option in a playroom, screen porch, kitchen and kids rooms. They come in many great colors and designs. Stop by and see the new ones I have in stock and ask to see what other colors and sizes are available.

There are critters all over the shop
I don't remember having this many critters in my shop. Many have made their way here via consignment which is very cool because animals and insects are quite hot in design right now. One difficult part of merchandising a consignment shop like REfind is staying current with design trends. It makes my day when a consignor considers what might be a great consigned item and actually shows up with it! We are fortunate to live in a very transient area where many are moving and downsizing. This means REfind receives many items which are just right for today's design. Yippee for all of the little critters this week!
