Snow? That is so yesterday!

So, got to work early to help shovel the parking lot.  Other than a bad case of wet Uggs, there is nothing going on!  The parking lot is clear, the roads are clear so stop by and keep me company on your day off!

Where can you find REfind in your house?

It is so nice when customers share with me how happy they are with a purchase they have made at REfind.  I try to get to know my customers so I can get a picture in my mind on how a certain piece will work in their home.  Watching what people are drawn to  helps me as well as listening to what they say.  When I got this picture I knew we got it right!

She wanted a piece where she could display her Portmeirion compotes and teapots.  She considered other cabinets that came through REfind but I never felt they were right when she was describing where and how she wanted to use them.  When I picked this one up I knew I had a winner!  It looks like it has been in her home all along with her sweet oak desk tucked in beside it.   Thank you Nancy for trusting me and waiting for just the right piece.

A Romantic Italian Supper anyone?

I don't know about you but trying to make a gourmet dinner just doesn't happen very much at my house anymore.  So to jazz things up when serving everyday meals a few cute props make it all look so much better!  And of course that bottle of red wine helps too.

Wishing and a hoping, Hoping and a praying....

Each week I strive to make the shop look new and fresh.  I am always excited to see what the consignors will bring me {but I secretly hope for certain things}.  So this week I was hoping I would get some things that would help me suggest Valentines Day to you.  And my wishing paid off when this sweet little cupid arrived!  What could be cuter than a heart shaped ivy nestled next to a cupid?

A Matched Set!

Look at these beauties!  It isn't too often that I get a matched set with so much potential.  I know that I often tell people the "matchy matchy" furniture days are over but....in this case I can totally picture keeping these pieces together.  That said there is no reason you couldn't use the dresser with the mirror as a living room piece while the other two do service in a bedroom.

These happen to be pieces I found so you may be wondering what is it that I like about them.  First of all they are well made, obviously during the time that nice wood and construction were what one expected in furniture.  Structurally they are very sound.  The sweet little curve and roping appealed to me too.  I also happen to love the look of old maple, especially when it has been naturally aged with time.

Could you paint them? Certainly if maple isn't your thing then a coat of paint with a bit of glaze to bring out all of the details would make them work with almost any decor.  These pieces are offered as individuals but wouldn't it be nice to keep them together!
