Back to Work!

The trip to Turks and Caicos was a much needed break from the REfind action.  But, now I am back and energized for the upcoming Holiday season.

Over the next few weeks you will see the store transform right before your eyes!  Since my elves are on strike (or pregnant and living in FL) I will be working on it much like I do at home...one room at a time hoping to get it all done by the time the fat man arrives.

Here are a few photos of new items that arrived this week.

Do you know Dick and Donna?

How do I choose what items I will take from consignors?  Well that is the hardest part of my job....so many things, so little space.  So the criteria sometimes is not very scientific at all.  Would I have this in my home?  Is it something that is unique.  But sometimes the only reason I take it is because it (or the consignor) makes me laugh...a real good belly laugh.

When the consignor brought these wonderful set of silver cups in I asked her who Dick and Donna were.  She replied, "I don't know, I just thought they were fun".  And that was all I needed.  Imagine having these awesome cups perched on your bar for your next party.  Do you know Dick and Donna?

The perfect furniture for kids and dogs

As most of my customers know I am very iffy about bringing any used upholstered items into the store.  But, when I found this fabulous set I couldn't resist!  It is a Room and Board couch and two charis done in a wonderful brown nubby fabric (the photos don't do the color justice).  The couch is a modern style and just 72" long which makes it very easy to fit down those basement stairs.  The matching chairs have a very nice seat while still being on the smaller side.  Usually smaller scale furniture just isn't that comfortable but this set would make even a grown man happy while holding his remote.

A few days after I came upon this set I found an end table and coffee table that appear to be brushed aluminumn ala Storehouse.  These pieces when married make a wonderful set and can be a great background for your favorite pillows and throws.  They won't last long so if you are thinking about them, come sooner than later; they have already gotten great reviews by the customers who were here on Tuesday.

Linen Look Upholstery Pieces Have Arrived

I am so excited with the new upholstery pieces that just arrived from pebblehilldesigns.com.  I saw these pieces at the Atlanta Home Market in late July and could not wait for the furniture to arrive.   I was amazed when I checked out these pieces in the showroom to find out they were not linen. What makes these items unique is that they are upholstered in Sunbrella fabric.  The look is one of  linen but with the durability of a fabric that can be cleaned up with a mild soap and water.  Sunbrella fabric has been used for years in marine, outdoor and awning applications.

Pebble Hill is owned by two sisters in Georgia who are a delight to work with and were very helpful to me when I was selecting pieces to have for purchase/preview in the shop. They have a very quick turn around and are willing to cover pieces with your own material as well.  Check out the link above to see all the styles they have to offer and then come and talk to me about your needs.
