Here comes the sun...and more fun at REfind!

While you were home "playing" in the snow I have been busy taking in lots of new consignments.  It is always so interesting to see what items the consignors bring into the store.  This week I acquired a new stagecoach trunk, mahogany buffet, iron/glass table, silverware chest and lots of smaller items.  Amongst the smalls are beautiful brown/white transfer-ware plates, green jadeite cups and saucers, an African wood carving and a an antique pickle jar!  Always different and always unique.

I also acquired a copy of a new magazine that I have been tracking the release of, Flea Market Style.  I read lots of blogs by creative people who love stuff as much as I do. This group finally put together a wonderful little magazine to highlight what you can do with all of your "finds".

Where can you find REfind in your home?

Where In My Home Can You Find REfind? (By fabulous REfind customer Michele)

At the entrance, where I've planted little evergreens in tin planters bought for a bargain $7 at REfind.  I'll plant something more spring-like when (if) spring comes!

In the foyer, where I've placed a wire letter box for the mail purchased at REfind for only $12 and modified with some clip-on rose ornaments.

In my front room, where I've added some bargain brown silk pillows (7 for $56!) to the window seat.

In my kitchen, where I've used some of those bargain brown pillows on a little bench seat.

In my family room, where I've added some wooden apples for a little pop of color on a table top.

In a hallway, where I've made a formal secretary more casual with the addition of a $45 shabby chic lamp.

In my little girl's room, where a just-couldn't-resist-hand painted dresser (only $325) adds some sophistication.

In my guest room, where an adorable vintage tin cocoa advertisement adds a sweet touch with a burlap bow.

NEW Furniture Arrived Today-Sorry For Blocking Church Street

I have been so excited about the arrival of the NEW Tradewinds furniture Tradewindsfurniture.com I ordered a few weeks ago.  The snowstorm made my wait even longer, but finally today everything arrived.  When I first thought about opening a store (at least five years ago), I went to a trade show in Atlanta where business owners go to purchase merchandise for their stores.  Now, this is not just a little bit of shopping, it is shopping like you have never imagined!  There are three buildings each housing about twenty floors and on each floor there are thiry to forty vendors marketing their wares.  Overwhelming to say the least!  When I was there in Atlanta I saw the Tradewinds Furniture showroom and fell in love with their products.  I have remembered them over the years and promised myself if I ever got a store that I would carry their products.

So, forward a few years and I place my order, second guessing myself about what I really remembered about the quality and style.  Did I really remember all of this correctly or was I just being hopeful that Tradewinds would be what I thought I remembered.  Well, I am thrilled to report the furniture is exactly what I remembered it to be!  The pieces are solid wood, solidly built and finished in a way that makes them perfect for so many decorating challenges. I promise to post pictures when I get to the shop tomorrow, but until then check out their website and see what you think!

Snow Packed!

REfind is overflowing with new finds!  I was thinking Spring, so you will find a fresh look that doesn't quite go with what is happening outside my front doors.  I am kinda liking the indoor environment a bit better than what I have had to deal with in my driveway; how about you?  While being stuck inside I made use of my time and cleaned out a few closets and drawers.  I know many others have done the same judging from  the calls I have had here at REfind.  I will not be taking any consignments this week but will begin again when all of my regular shoppers return.  Could you all do me a favor and tell at least two new people about the store this week?  It has been a tough two weeks for sales.  I would appreciate your help in putting out the good word about the shop.  Thanks!  Enjoy the Springy photos!
