Pom-Poms!

Having fun decorating the store with Martha Stewart pom-poms. marthastewart.com We are having my daughters bridal shower here on Sunday and thought it would be fun to have these puffs hanging from the ceiling for the party.  They were very easy and quick to assemble.  Just a bit of tissue paper, wire and monofilament for hanging.  I also noticed instructions for making mini poms to use as napkin rings, how cute and fun is that?!

A little bit of twinkle.....

In anticipation of our Black Friday opening, we made sure we added a bit of twinkle to help usher in the holidays.  (I also filled my ipod with new music!)  We have a good selection of cut glass bowls, serving pieces, candle holders and vases.  I was trying to think of a fun way to display all of the glass and decided that glass, lights and snow always look magical at this time of year; and yes, it is a very economical way to add a lot of sparkle for just pennies.  I also plan to add some silver trays as those arrive for holiday serving.  If you like sparkle do try this at home!  It is a great way to display some of those hand-me-downs you have that you only pull out once a year.

The stockings were hung in the window with care....

In between meeting new consignors and helping the customers, I have been decorating the store.  Christmas "finds" are selling really well right now so we are still accepting holiday items.  As you pull out all of those boxes try to save a few items for REfind.  Remember to call for an appointment as I only have a small window each day that I can take items in for resale.  You can always email me photos if you are wondering if your items are appropriate for consignment at REfind.  It is my desire to only take items that I believe will sell, a win-win situation for you and me.  Stop by to see the fun!

Seasonal Changes

The change from Fall to Winter is taking place in the store. I started just like we do at home, in one "room". I plan to work my way to the front of the store as we approach Thanksgiving.  The back of the store has been transformed to remind everyone of the fabulous 50's with vintage furniture and decorations.  Come see an array of seasonal finds to enhance your decor.  And of course, I have lots of ideas for you if you just ask!  Over the years I have progressed to having a tree in every room of my home.  Some are as simple as mini soap and mini perfumes tied with bows on a table top tree that sits on the vanity and others are more elaborate.  What is central to having a unified look is to develop a style that is all your own.  Enjoy the decorating we have started at REfind and make sure you come back to see each "room" as well develop the themes in each area.

We are Alive!

Today we received our plant order from Schubert Nursery.  They have wonderful house plants which I love for setting the holiday table.  I ordered topiary plants in angel vine, rosemary, ivy and euonymus.  They are so fresh and green!  I also ordered a mixture of tiny ferns which are fun to use in the bathroom.  They love the moisture and can handle lower light than most plants.  Come by and see how we have used these sweet plants in the shop displays.  On another note, the last post is now just a teaser as both desks sold yesterday.  We are thankful for the wonderful customers who have found us and show their support by purchasing!  It is so much fun to be able to tell those who call to consign, yes!!! we have room for your items.

Do you need a place to study?

Check out the two new desks that arrived in the last few days.  One is almost banana yellow and quite a statement.  The other is a petite writing desk that would be wonderful in a small bedroom, kitchen corner or tucked at the end of a hall.  I have a bet with my husband which one will sell first!  Difference in opinion of beauty is what makes decorating interesting.  It is so much fun to hear how various customers plan to use their finds.  Note to Ami, the candle reviewer, I got the Amber Rose Oasis candles delivered today so now you can have your favorite scent in a full size to enjoy.
